Water Treatment Plant – Operator/Trainee

The Tazewell County PSA is accepting applications for Water Treatment Plant Operator/Trainee. Applicant must have basic computer knowledge, mathematics, communication skills, be able to test and complete Water Certification, and meet criteria to become a class 2 licensed operator in a timely manner.  Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, work different shifts and have a high school diploma; college education is a plus.  Preferred applicants will be operators who currently hold a class 2 license.  Applicant must pass a physical examination, drug test by a doctor selected by the PSA, good DMV driving record and background check prior to employment, and be able to inter-act with the public.  Applications will be accepted until position is filled.

ACCOUNTANT/GRANT-LOAN COORDINATOR

 

The Tazewell County Public Service Authority (PSA) is currently accepting applications for an Accountant/Grant-Loan Coordinator.  This position is responsible for the oversight of the PSA’s financial records with work being performed under established accounting procedures and governmental guidelines.  Duties include but not limited to the following: oversee and review all financial operations of the PSA, maintain computerized general and fund accounting ledgers, responsible for annual budget preparation and monthly financial statements and budget comparison.  The position would also be responsible for applying for capital project funding, requesting awarded funding from various governmental agencies and disbursement to capital project contractors, monitor progress of awarded grants and ensure compliance with funding requirements, maintain accurate records of all grant-related documentation, and execute drawdown payment requests to funding agencies.  Knowledge of governmental funding guidelines.  This position assists the Administrator as needed to approve and sign Direct Deposits, Accounts Payable and Payroll Checks, balances Capital Funds Bank Statement w/ GL.  An applicant should have thorough knowledge of computerized fund accounting.  Ability to work effectively with other employees.  The Accountant/Grant-Loan Coordinator answers directly to the Administrator.

 

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or finance required.  Must have at least two years of working experience in related field.  A certified public accountant (CPA) is a plus, but not required.  Starting salary depends on qualifications and experience.
